Ensuring, simply but effectively, a follow-up of the progress of each thesis. An individual monitoring/follow-up committee (CSI) is assigned to each doctoral student, from the 1st year until the thesis defence. The doctoral student may, if necessary, contact the members of his CSI at any time.
The CSI is made up of two members, possibly supplemented by the direction of the ED:
Submission of the CSI composition proposal before December 31 of the year of first registration, or May 31 for the first registrations after January 1.
The committee will have to meet, if necessary by videoconference for external doctoral students and for doctoral students working off-site in Poitiers, before each re-registration in June. In the specific case of a first registration after January 1st, the 1st CSI will be organized in September.
The organization of this interview (definition of a common date, reservation of a room, videoconference link if necessary, etc.) is the responsibility of the doctoral student.
In preparation for this interview, the doctoral student writes a progress report of his work of 10 to 15 pages and submits it via the dedicated form before May 15th. Thesis supervisors should not intervene in the writing of this manuscript.
The interview takes place in three stages:
– a quick (5 minutes) presentation of the doctoral student’s work on the basis of a single slide
– a discussion between the doctoral student and the members of the CSI on the basis of the report. Thesis supervisors do not take part at this stage of the interview.
– a discussion between the members of the CSI and the supervision of the thesis, in the absence of the doctoral student.
The CSI completes the form and sends it to the director of the ED who processes it.
